Turn a simple stock cabinet into a really useful cart completely loaded with surprising storage space. This is more than a cabinet on wheels - turn the cart around and surprise! Supersized storage. Here's how it happens.Prep the pieces according to the detailed directions. Remove the doors, and working on the back of the cabinet, glue a spacer to the rear edge of one side, and apply a side panel.
Glue a birch plywood backer to the back of the cabinet, and then attach the second spacer and side panel. Add two shelves, driving screws through the side panels to attach them. A great tip here, use scrap pieces cut to the correct height to support the shelves while you're attaching them.
Then add the bottom of the cart. Next, apply the trim pieces to the shelving, drive screws in the center stile - it'll keep the shelves from sagging when they get loaded up with stuff.
Add the top, and then pick your favorite finish. Add the casters and this cute cart can be used almost anywhere keep creative supplies corralled, make it baking central, or take it to the garage to store your tools.
